What are
Earbuds?
Earbuds are small headphones that
are very popular for use with MP3 players, and other similar digital players. Earbuds differ from regular
headphones in the way that they are simply tiny speakers that are attached to the speaker cable holding them,
and instead of being on a frame that hugs the top of your head like regular headphones, they simply slide into
your ear and stay there to allow you to listen to music without toting around a large, clumsy
alternative.
Earbuds have grown in popularity in
recent years, especially with the rise of portable music devices like MP3 players. It seems like the smaller the
players get, the smaller the Earbuds get as well! Earbuds may very well produce as high quality sound as
headphones, but without the clumsy aspect that requires you to find a place to stick them in your backpack or
bag. With Earbuds, you can simply carry them in your pocket, or even draped around your neck if you are
not listening to them!
Similar to in-ear headphones, there are many
different kinds of Earbuds, and they range in price from a few dollars to over 100 dollars! If you are looking
for the perfect Earbuds for you, then first consider what you are going to be doing with them.
Are you going to be listening to
your favorite music while hanging out with friends or riding in the car with them? If so, then you probably want
them because they are versatile, but they also need to be able to reproduce the sound with high
quality.
In this case, you will probably end
up spending somewhere between 10 and 50 dollars on a pair. This will get you something that is somewhere
between pretty good and awesome when it comes to sound reproduction. For $50, you can get yourself an amazing
pair of Earbuds that are especially made to wear while your jogging!
Earbuds come in a lot of different
colors too. You will be sure to find some that suit your style, as well as your budget. You might find that
Earbuds usually have shorter cables on them than headphones, so you may find it necessary to buy a short
extension cable.
This is pretty common, and 1/8 inch
extension headphone cables for your Earbuds are inexpensive and easy to find. You might also need a ¼ inch
adapter for your Earbuds so that you can use them when plugging into something with a ¼ inch headphone jack,
such as on a guitar practice amplifier.
